President, FSAC Board of Directors<\/strong><\/p>\n With more than three decades of leadership experience in the death care profession, Ray Fournier brings a wealth of strategic, operational, and financial expertise to the FSAC Board. His extensive background in senior management has honed his skills in strategic direction, client and stakeholder relations, business growth, and organizational transformation\u2014qualities that have made him a valued contributor to FSAC\u2019s national leadership.<\/p>\n Ray\u2019s deep understanding of the death care and consumer goods industries, paired with his experience in distribution, retail, and labor management, enables him to provide informed guidance on both industry and governance matters. Currently serving his third term on the FSAC Board, Ray has been part of the executive team for the past three years, previously holding the role of Treasurer and now serving as President. He has also chaired the Governance, Finance, Human Resources, and Conference Committees.<\/p>\n Motivated by a lifelong belief in the power of collaboration, Ray joined FSAC to give back to a profession he deeply values. He believes that by working together, every sector of the death care profession can contribute to a stronger, more unified future.<\/p>\n Outside of his professional life, Ray is active in charitable organizations, enjoys travelling with his wife Barbie, and finds his peace on the golf course. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping industry standards, strengthening partnerships, and advancing the profession across Canada.<\/p>\n Early in her career, Janet was among the first in British Columbia to be recognized as a licensed funeral director under the province\u2019s new legislation. From 1990 to 2013, she served as Executive Director of the Funeral Service Association of British Columbia (FSABC), where she helped develop competency-based and workplace-integrated apprenticeship programs. Her success in securing provincial and federal funding supported these initiatives for years to come. During her tenure, Janet worked closely with a visionary board to influence provincial policy and contribute to lasting improvements in the funeral service sector.<\/p>\n In 2013, Janet joined Service Corporation International (Canada) ULC as Director of Government and Corporate Affairs \u2013 Canada<\/strong>, where she continues to advocate for frontline professionals while engaging with government and regulatory bodies to advance key industry priorities. A proud supporter of FSAC\u2019s collaborative mission, Janet coined the organization\u2019s unifying tagline, \u201cBetter Together,\u201d<\/strong> which has since become a guiding theme for FSAC\u2019s work nationwide.<\/p>\n As Chair of FSAC\u2019s Government Relations Committee, Janet leads national efforts on issues such as increasing the CPP death benefit and removing GST from essential death care services. She believes deeply in the importance of partnership\u2014between FSAC, provincial associations, and government ministries\u2014to achieve meaningful change through \u201cone voice, one purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n Outside of her professional life, Janet devotes time to supporting elderly family members through their end-of-life journeys. Having supported countless families through loss, he believes that every story shared is an opportunity to honor a life and bring comfort to those left behind. Having grown up in the funeral profession, Kollin began working alongside his uncle\u2014the founder of Sydney Memorial Chapel\u2014at just 12 years old. Inspired by his uncle\u2019s dedication to both families and the profession, Kollin developed a deep respect for service, tradition, and the importance of modernizing funeral care in Atlantic Canada.<\/p>\n Encouraged by mentors Allan Cole and Ray Fournier, Kollin joined the FSAC Board to represent Cape Breton and Eastern Canada, ensuring the region remains connected and engaged in national discussions shaping the deathcare profession. Today, as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee<\/strong>, he plays an active role in recruiting new members, strengthening engagement, and promoting FSAC across conventions and professional events.<\/p>\n Kollin\u2019s motivation comes from a lifetime spent helping families during their most difficult moments\u2014a passion instilled early, when he was often found assisting at the funeral home as a child. That lifelong connection continues to drive his commitment to ensuring every family receives the highest standard of care.<\/p>\n Outside of his professional life, Kollin embraces the natural beauty of Cape Breton through boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and golfing (despite what he calls his \u201chorrible swing\u201d). As President and CEO of Guaranteed Funeral Deposits (GFD)<\/strong>, Heather is responsible for ensuring that over $1.5 billion in prepaid funeral funds are safeguarded for Canadians. Her leadership has focused on strengthening compliance, building trust with regulators, and upholding the highest standards of consumer protection and professional excellence.<\/p>\n Heather joined the FSAC Board to help advance the national conversation around the future of funeral service in Canada. She is passionate about supporting FSAC\u2019s mission to unify and strengthen the profession, ensuring that all Canadians continue to receive trusted, dignified care during life\u2019s most difficult moments. A graduate of St. Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Lewis began his career as an Accounting Control Officer with the Guysborough County District School Board before joining Canada Post\u2019s National Philatelic Centre in Antigonish, where he served as a Financial Analyst for 27 years and contributed to numerous national projects.<\/p>\n In 1992, Lewis earned his Funeral Director\u2019s licence and later transitioned to full-time service at G.W. Giffin Funeral Home in 2012. He received his Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation in 2013 and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia (FSANS) from 2013 to 2019.<\/p>\n Deeply inspired by his late father, Peter MacIntosh, and their shared experiences attending FSAC conventions over the years, Lewis developed a lasting appreciation for the association\u2019s mission and community. His longstanding commitment to the profession led him to join the FSAC Board in 2024, where he is currently serving as a Director and member of the Membership Committee.<\/p>\n Outside of his professional life, Lewis is an active community volunteer, serving in a variety of roles including Elder, Clerk of Session, and Choir Member at his local church. He also lends his expertise as a Financial Advisor to the Goshen & Area Fire Department and as Chairperson of the Goshen Community Centre and Fire Department Board of Directors. A familiar voice at community events, Lewis has emceed concerts, Canada Day celebrations, and fundraising events, including the annual 12-hour broadcast on 98.9 XFM supporting St. Martha\u2019s Hospital Help Day.<\/p>\n As a funeral director, Lewis finds deep fulfillment in serving families with compassion and care\u2014helping them create meaningful tributes and moments of remembrance. Dooley Funeral Home in North Sydney, N.S. In 2002, he joined The Dodge Company (Canada) Ltd. as a Sales Representative, a position he held for 21 years. Through his work with Dodge, Bill attended numerous FSAC conferences and presented embalming sessions at national events\u2014experiences that deepened his appreciation for the association\u2019s leadership in education and professional development.<\/p>\n Bill\u2019s motivation to join the FSAC Board came after attending the 2024 FSAC Summit in Winnipeg, where he was inspired by the energy, collaboration, and educational focus of the event. He hopes to contribute to FSAC\u2019s ongoing educational initiatives and serve on the Education Committee to further support continuing learning within the profession.<\/p>\n Outside of his professional work, Bill dedicated 20 years of service as an Auxiliary Constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
